Cops Detained Him Illegally Then Faced A Lawsuit In Georgia In this bodycam footage from Georgia USA a tyrant cop detains an innocent passenger during a traffic stop after claiming he looks like a guy with warrants. The man was not even the driver of the car yet Deputy Burton badge 2590 and his partner refused to let him go. This police encounter shows exactly why every citizen needs to know your rights when dealing with law enforcement. The incident took place in Georgia during a late night traffic stop. The passenger repeatedly asked what crime he was suspected of and requested a supervisor multiple times but the deputies refused to call one. Despite confirming the man was NOT the suspect they were looking for the cops continued to detain him search his pockets without consent and demanded he identify himself. The man firmly exercised his Fourth Amendment right against unreasonable search and seizure and refused to comply with what he believed was an unlawful detention. At one point the deputy admitted he only thought the man might be the suspect saying you think that is correct. The passenger fired back that suspicion is not a law. He invoked his constitutional rights throughout the entire encounter and never broke any law. By the end the officers had no legal grounds to hold him and were forced to walk away in defeat. The man told them they would be hearing from his lawyer in the morning and wished them a happy new year as they retreated in what many call a walk of shame moment. This case highlights the ongoing problem of police misconduct and police overreach during traffic stops across America. Similar incidents have been reported in Atlanta Savannah Augusta Macon Columbus and other Georgia cities. Cases like this often lead to civil rights lawsuits under Section 1983 and settlements paid by taxpayers when officers violate constitutional protections. The man clearly stated his intention to pursue legal action and consult an attorney for what appears to be a false detention and violation of his civil rights under the Fourth and Fifth Amendments of the United States Constitution.
