An Arizona father of three is facing a first-degree murder charge after his 2-year-old daughter died from being left in a hot car. Christopher Scholtes, 37, told police he had left the toddler parked directly in the sun in the family home’s driveway with the AC running so she could sleep, but told investigators the car’s auto-off function must have kicked in. On the scorching 109-degree day, first responders rushed to help the child but were unable to resuscitate her. Christopher was arrested days later after investigators uncovered conflicting statements. Watch the incident unfold on this episode of Law&Crime BodyCam.
