On August 28, around 8 a.m., a PCSO K-9 deputy stopped a car on Interstate 10 near Eloy. The deputy saw what appeared to be a human smuggling attempt and called Border Patrol. While working on a written warning for the traffic violation, the passenger got out of the vehicle and ran across the freeway. That passenger was picked up by Border Patrol later that morning.
