As the first officer arrived and exited her vehicle, she could hear additional shots being fired. Shortly after the first officer arrived, a woman called 911 from a home in the 2500 block of Garland to report a break-in. The woman told the call taker she was hiding in the house with her two small children. As officers approached the house, they could hear a man, later identified as 38-year-old Sylvester Price, yelling for help from inside the rear of the home. Officers approached the back of the house and observed Price with blood covering his hand walking around inside. Officers briefly interacted with Price through the back door until he moved farther into the house, out of their line of sight. While call takers were still on the line with the woman hiding inside, officers attempted to make entry to the home. Before officers could enter, Price broke a side window and jumped out. Officers observed a gun in his hand. Officers encountered him in a neighboring backyard and gave verbal commands to drop the gun. Officers told him they would help him if he dropped the gun. Price did not comply and fled from officers. Price ran to the front yard of a neighboring home. Officers continued to give verbal commands to drop the gun. Price did not comply. He then led officers on a foot chase to the 800 block of S. 26th Street where he pointed his gun at officers. Several officers then discharged their weapons striking Price. Officers immediately rendered life-saving aid. Medics rushed Price to University of Louisville Hospital. He remains in critical condition. No officers were injured in the incident. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Special thanks to Shout-Out Supporters on Patreon: - 'DIY Solar Power with Will Prowse' - Maciej Jarzebowski - Lynn Boyer - 'MortimerEsq' - 'Monty' - Exus Altimus - Mateusz Adam Katana - 'Dawesenm' - William Bowman - Paul Rohrbaugh - Sandra McGreevy - Charlie Collier - 'Krazy KZ' - Koby Bland - Christopher Payne - Zach Williams - Michael R Sheffield - Rich Biggs - 'JTrip' - Lee Roberts - Brant Eaton - 'General X' - 'jadeennff' - James Pringle - 'AccuShoot.com' - Meighan Garrick - 'Sopaul' - Lisa Overly - Connor Davies - 'Necko' - Gerardo Flores - Anthony Eufemio - 'Donkbot' - Gage Kissinger - Eian Smith - 'HelloDarknessMyOldFriend' - 'coco Coco' ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Support us at BuyMeACoffee: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/PoliceActivity Support us on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/PoliceActivity Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/Police_Activity 🛍️ Check out our Amazon store: https://www.amazon.com/shop/PoliceActivity 🛍️ Disclosure: Please note that we will receive a small commission from purchases made through our Amazon store.
