On May 23rd, 2022, a Normal police officer stops a driver for a tail light violation. She was eventually placed under arrest for DUI. After she was arrested she tried running from police but was apprehended after a struggle with officers. 📜 She was found guilty of aggravated battery a class 2 felony and DUI a class A misdemeanor. 📜 She was sentenced to 92 days in jail, 24 months of probation, and 24 months of supervision. Blue Watch provides police body camera footage to document officer and civilian interactions. We recognize that there is a need for the public and law enforcement to have access to police footage for educational and informational purposes. We believe that we can do our part to improve the police and public's relationship by sharing what happens during an interaction, whether officer or civilian misconduct, by providing this footage. The purpose of this footage is to show interactions between law enforcement and citizens not to publicly embarrass, scoff, or demean the individuals involved.
