On November 9th, 2024, police uncovered a nearly $5,000 shopping scam after a woman—later identified as Valerie—used fake information, swapped IDs, and slipped past credit card checks. The victim’s slow response and the store’s delayed actions didn’t help, but surveillance footage and transaction records eventually exposed Valerie’s lies. Throughout the investigation she repeatedly changed her story, denied obvious evidence, blamed others, refused ID checks, and kept contradicting herself until the proof left no room to hide. Her careless behavior, evasive excuses, and lack of cooperation only made the situation worse.
