On March 16, 2025, Pullman Police Officers were dispatched to Walmart, where loss prevention agents had detained a male and a female shopper. The 20-year-old woman was suspected of shoplifting, while her male friend was not believed to have stolen any items. Nonetheless, both individuals received lifetime bans from all Walmarts in the U.S. and Canada. The woman was issued a criminal citation for theft - 3rd degree after loss prevention was able to determine that she stole $61.41 worth of items. The woman was released with a court date.
