It really helps us do original reporting like this. 🔍 Episode Overview: At around 11:34 PM on December 17, 2024, Officer James Koretsky from the Solon Police spotted a 2016 Ford Escape driving the wrong way near S.O.M. Center Road and Solon Road. He turned on his lights and pulled the vehicle over on Solon Road. When the driver stopped, Officer Koretsky stepped out and approached the car. The driver was identified as 25-year-old Tionna Cisco. While talking to her, the officer noticed signs she might be under the influence. Tionna said she had gone bowling earlier to celebrate her 25th birthday and admitted she had consumed alcohol before driving. To see if she was impaired, Officer Koretsky asked her to do some simple tests: finger dexterity, counting backwards, and reciting part of the alphabet. She struggled with all three. Later, Officer Christopher Schiavoni arrived to assist. He asked Tionna to step out of the vehicle and perform more field sobriety tests. The first was the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) test. During this, the officer saw her eyes jerk involuntarily and persistently, and that her nystagmus began before 45 degrees. Both eyes showed vertical nystagmus as well. She also failed the Walk and Turn test; she didn't touch her heel to her toe, turned the wrong way, and stopped before completing the test. The final test was the One Leg Stand. Tionna couldn’t keep her foot raised properly and put it down before the test was over. Due to her reckless driving, her confession about drinking, and her poor performance on the tests, she was placed under arrest for Operating a Vehicle Impaired (OVI). Afterward, she said she made a mistake. Officer Schiavoni handcuffed her and took her to the police station for processing. At the station, the officer read her the BMV 2255 form, and she agreed to give breath samples. The breathalyzer showed her BAC was 0.188%, well over the legal limit of 0.08%. Tionna admitted she had been at Rollhouse Bowling Alley and had vodka there before driving. After processing, she received citations for OVI (sections 4511.19(A)(1)(a) and 4511.19(A)(1)(h)), driving the wrong way (section 432.29), and making an improper left turn (section 432.10(a)(2)).
