***For those wondering if the title is an exaggeration, please read the description first. Washington State enforces a strict 0.02 BAC limit for 19-year-olds. Out of the two times she was tested, one of her breathalyzer readings was 0.234. That equates to over 11 times the legal limit for her age. In this incident breakdown, we examine an early morning DUI investigation by the Pullman Police Department on April 2, 2025. Officers were originally dispatched to a traffic hazard involving a disabled white sedan stopped with its hazard lights on in the middle of Stadium Way. Responding officers quickly noticed the vehicle had a broken passenger-side tire linkage, and the 19-year-old driver appeared highly impaired. The driver claimed she was delivering food and had hit a curb days earlier, though officers located fresh damage on the nearby curb. Officers observed extreme signs of intoxication, including slurred speech, a strong odor of alcohol, and an inability to maintain balance. After the driver performed poorly on standardized field sobriety tests, she was placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence. The investigation also uncovered a fake Colorado identification card inside the vehicle. At the station, the driver provided breath samples registering at .236 and .234. These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. An arrest is not a finding of guilt: that’s something for a court to decide. #pullman #DUI #news
