On March 5, 2023 , an officer initiated a traffic stop on a 30-year-old woman for driving with her high beams activated. The situation escalated when the driver, refused to roll down her window more than a crack. Despite repeated commands to exit the vehicle , she refused and instead closed her window completely. The officer warned her the window would be broken , and after she still failed to comply , the officer shattered the glass. As police attempted to remove her from the car, she tensed up and resisted their efforts. An officer deployed pepper spray to gain compliance , and she was taken into custody. She was transported to jail and charged with Resisting an Officer without Violence.
