A man called 911 to report that his girlfriend was allegedly driving under the influence. Beachwood Police Lt. Owens spotted a car matching the description and pulled it over. The 21-year-old driver admitted to having one alcoholic drink a few hours earlier. Though the lieutenant wasn't fully convinced she was intoxicated, he used the encounter as a training opportunity for a new officer. Patrolman Shippy conducted field sobriety tests, including a portable breathalyzer, which showed a BAC of 0.154%. Meanwhile, the boyfriend arrived and shared his version of events with Patrolman Workman. The woman was arrested for DUI, and a more accurate breath test at the station showed a BAC of 0.127%. She pled guilty to the misdemeanor OVI charge on November 27, 2023. The boyfriend, who had a warrant from a nearby township, was eventually released. ⚠️Note: Footage from this video was obtained via the Ohio Public Records Act (R.C. 149.43) All persons featured on the channel are to be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
