A woman was working as a bartender in the south suburbs of Chicago. At nearly 2 AM on September 15, 2025, an officer in Midlothian, Illinois observed her run a red light, swerve across both eastbound lanes, and accelerate at high speed. When the officer approached, she told him she'd come from her shift as a bartender, and that she'd only had less than half a glass of wine. A portable breathalyzer put her at .172. During vehicle inventory, officers found an open bottle of tequila on the rear floorboard and an empty wine cooler in the front seat. The woman consented to field sobriety tests, and she had no shortage of confidence. She called her boyfriend to the scene mid-investigation, told officers they were not towing her car, and once in handcuffs, repeatedly demanded her phone back. When officers informed her of the DUI charge, she asked why. At the station, she agreed to provide a breath sample, then failed the breathalyzer six consecutive times.
