It really helps us do original reporting like this. 🔍 Episode Overview: A GMC Sierra swerved across lanes on Technology Drive. Officer Calvin Milas of the Downers Grove Police saw it. It was February 11, 2025, almost 11:30 PM. The truck drove east near Butterfield Road. Officer Milas turned on his lights. The driver did not stop. Instead, the GMC sped away for two miles. It finally stopped at Summit Avenue and South Lane Drive. This was in Oakbrook Terrace. Officer Milas approached the driver. Her name was Yuvia. He saw vomit on the driver's door. She also showed other signs of being impaired. Yuvia said she was going to work. Her job was at the Gold Room. It is a club in Stone Park, Illinois. Officer DeVries asked Yuvia to say the alphabet. She started at "E" and went past "W." Then, she was asked to count backward. She should have started at "59" and stopped at "37." Yuvia counted down to "27." Officer Pastrana arrived to help. Yuvia was then asked to get out. She had to do field sobriety tests. The first test was the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus. Officer Milas noted four signs of impairment. The next test was the Walk and Turn. Yuvia did not step heel-to-toe. She also turned the wrong way. The last test was the One Leg Stand. Officer Milas offered Yuvia a breath test. She did not give a good sample. She tried several times. Officer Milas arrested Yuvia for DUI. This was because of her driving and the test results. Handcuffed, Yuvia went into the patrol car. She was taken to the Downers Grove Police Department. There, she was read a warning. Yuvia agreed to give breath samples. The breathalyzer showed a BAC of 0.066%. This is illegal for anyone under 21. After processing, Yuvia was released. She must appear in court on March 12, 2025. Her court date is at the DuPage County Courthouse. Yuvia faced several charges. These included driving under the influence of alcohol. She also was charged with failing to yield to an emergency vehicle. Improper lane usage was another charge.
