Watch this police interrogation with intense raw interrogation from the interrogation room as police conduct a full interrogation of a suspect. This raw interrogation footage captures every moment of the suspect interview, complete with deception detection techniques, and criminal psychology in true JCS style interrogation. The Background David Haggard (then in his mid-40s) and Jamie Haggard (27, mother of twin daughters) were half-siblings living together in a shared home in Kenmore, King County, Washington, along with other roommates including David’s girlfriend and another housemate. Both had histories of drug use (heroin and methamphetamine); Jamie reportedly sold prescription pills to support her addiction. Their relationship was volatile and contentious, involving prior physical altercations; David had previously beaten and threatened Jamie. Jamie repeatedly told her boyfriend and others that she feared David would kill her. Motive centered on ongoing conflicts over living arrangements, perceived thefts, and drug-fueled disputes rather than a single clear financial or other external reason. The Crime On or about June 9, 2016, after recent arguments (including one in which David allegedly knocked Jamie unconscious and later sent a photo of her tied up in a bathtub to a housemate), Jamie returned to the Kenmore home to retrieve belongings or address the living situation and was never seen alive again. Prosecutors alleged David killed her (cause of death ruled “homicidal violence”), then dismembered her body, partially burned the remains, and placed them in a suitcase along with a partially burned red sheet matching bedding from the home. The suitcase containing the remains was dumped on the shoulder of a road (near State Route 522 / Downes Road area near Maltby) in Snohomish County. Calculated elements included post-disappearance actions such as filling in a hole on the property and using Jamie’s phone to send text messages impersonating her (including to family) to reduce concern about her absence. The Investigation Jamie was reported missing around June 17, 2016, by family after days of no contact; her phone and credit cards showed no further legitimate use. David admitted to police that he possessed Jamie’s phone and had sent texts from it; he also claimed she was “causing so much trouble.” Witnesses described ongoing volatility and prior assaults. Searches of the Kenmore property (including excavation of the yard on multiple occasions, including July 2016) found burn areas and other indicators but no body. In May 2018 (around May 9–10), a roadside cleanup crew discovered the suitcase with partially burned, dismembered remains in Snohomish County; DNA identified them as Jamie Haggard’s. Key evidence included the matching red sheet/bedding from the home, GPS data from a stolen vehicle David was linked to that showed travel near the dump site on or about June 14, 2016, phone records, witness statements about assaults and threats, and David’s cover-up actions (including an unrelated arson involving burning equipment that investigators linked to efforts to destroy fingerprints/evidence). Inconsistencies included David’s impersonation texts, denials of harm when police previously responded to the tied-up photo incident (Jamie herself initially denied it), and later claims that sightings of Jamie were “not possible.” Conviction and Sentencing David Haggard was charged with second-degree murder in October 2019 (while already in custody on unrelated arson/burglary matters stemming from 2016). A King County jury convicted him of second-degree murder in October 2022 after a multi-week trial. On December 9, 2022, he was sentenced to 15 years in prison (within the standard range of roughly 13.75–22 years; prosecutors had sought the high end), plus 3 years of community custody with drug/alcohol evaluation and treatment requirements. He maintained his innocence at sentencing.
