In late 2024, officers on proactive patrol stopped a pickup truck with dark tinted windows and a broken taillight after it left a nearby hotel. During the stop, the driver became argumentative, refused to roll down the rear windows, and ignored repeated requests for identification, instead calling emergency services to demand a supervisor. After refusing multiple commands to exit the vehicle, the driver was detained following a brief struggle while children were present in the back seat. The individual was later charged with resisting an officer without violence and misuse of emergency services, cited for illegal window tint, and given a warning for equipment violations.
