On March 8, 2026, deputies from the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25. The 19-year-old driver of a Honda crashed into the back of a Rivian that was traveling in the slow lane. The impact caused the Honda to swerve off the roadway, deploying all of the airbags. When Deputy Molloy arrived, she made contact with the driver of the Honda. The police report indicates that Deputy Molloy detected a strong smell of alcohol. After being checked out by EMS, the woman was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests. She was subsequently arrested and was transported to the Sheriff's station. She agreed to provide breath samples and the results were 0.12% BAC. She was charged with (1) Driving While Under the Influence of Liquor; (2) Having an Open Container of Alcohol; and (3) Failure to Maintain Traffic Lane. Her case is still open and her next court date is June 9, 2026. All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
