Bodycam: police handcuff a security guard for refusing to open a gate during a traffic stop. Then the charge was dropped. An officer chasing a driver who ran a stop sign reaches a private security gate at 5 a.m. The barrier is already closed. The guard on duty tells him she has to call her supervisor before letting anyone through. Within minutes, four officers are at her booth and she is in handcuffs inside a patrol car. Then the handcuffs come off. Not because anyone changed their mind, but because she was the only guard on site and her relief was 45 minutes away. She is released with a written citation and put back on the same gate she was just arrested at. On-scene signage shows the barrier closes automatically after each vehicle. The charge, resisting an officer without violence, was later dropped. The driver who allegedly ran the stop sign is never accounted for on camera. This video looks at what happens when a private company's access protocol collides with a police order, and who ends up paying for the gap between them. Footage: Stuart Police Department body-worn camera. Incident date: May 18, 2026, Stuart, Florida. ⚖️ The person shown was never convicted of any offense. The charge was dropped before trial. Nothing in this video states or implies that she committed a crime, and nothing here is legal advice. Body-worn camera footage is used for the purposes of commentary, criticism, and news reporting. #bodycam #securityguard #knowyourrights
