Riviera Beach, Florida. January 12, 2024. Officers arrive to find a 13-year-old girl outside, crying, begging them to take her mother away. Before they even get the full story, the mother gives them three words that frame everything that follows: "So I showed her." What makes this footage stand out is how the case builds. Two completely opposite accounts, visible injuries, and then a witness who was right there when it started. The officer has to weigh corporal punishment law in Florida against what he is physically seeing on this girl's face and neck. He knows exactly what happens to him if he walks away and someone reviews his camera. This is one of those cases where the bodycam does exactly what it is supposed to do. Watch how the officer handles the mother at the end, and then look at what the court actually did with it.
