-North Olmsted, OH. -November 04, 2023. The bizarre and bloody incident started when a woman called 911 at around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday. She told North Olmsted police she was getting into her car when a man with no shirt or shoes on and covered in blood approached her and asked her for help. He told her someone was trying to kill him and his uncle. The man was the only one to survive the ordeal. “Hi, I have a man that just came up to my car and said that men broke into his house and tried to rob him and kidnap him and killed his uncle,” a 911 caller said. The man refused to tell the woman helping him his name just that he needed police to respond to a home on Alden Drive. “He’s running he just ran away but he has multiple wounds to his head, he’s bleeding all down,” the woman told the 911 dispatcher. “He’s bleeding too?” the dispatcher asked. “Yes, he was bleeding,” she said. “He said they kidnapped him. They hit him with a gun.” “I need all North Olmsted cars responding to 28456 Alden; a possible attempted murder at this time, still getting information, very sketchy,” the dispatcher said. When police arrived at the home, officers heard what sounded like a gunshot, and then they realized the home was on fire. “Did you hear it too?” an officer asked. “It sounded like a gunshot. I can’t tell if it came from that house or somewhere further north. You seeing all that smoke coming out of the front door?” Then officers saw a man run out the front door of the home. Police body camera video shows the tense moments officers chased the suspect through neighbors’ yards. “Police! Stop! Do not move!” an officer ordered. “I said stop police! Stop!” Then the suspect got stuck in some bushes. “He’s stuck in the bushes right here!” the officer yelled. “Help me!” the suspect cried. Then a series of gunshots rang out. “Shots fired, shots fired,” the officer exclaimed. “I’m hit! I’m hit!” Police say the man fired twice at a North Olmsted officer hitting him in the arm and chest. His bulletproof vest saved his life. The officer was taken to St. John Westshore Hospital but was later released with minor injuries. “I don’t know what the f**k happened over here, but there’s a house on fire and somebody out running around shooting at the f***ing cops.” A North Olmsted officer and a Westlake police officer fired back at the shooter. Police identified the shooter as 27-year-old Thomas Nock. He died at the hospital. When the fire department arrived, the house was engulfed in flames and thick smoke. “We heard a couple bangs, and we looked in our backyard and our neighbor’s house is on fire,” a 911 caller said. Once crews got the fire under control, they found another man dead inside the home, 52-year-old Christopher Torrisi. The North Olmsted man had been shot. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office is still investigating exactly how Torrisi died. Police say Torrisi’s nephew, who approached that woman asking for help, was also assaulted by Nock. He was taken to the hospital but is expected to be okay. In a press conference Monday, police said they are very familiar with the home on Alden Drive. 19 Investigates discovered the man who was shot in the head, Torrisi, had an extensive criminal background dating back to 1999. His previous convictions include forgery, drug possession, robbery, theft, tampering with evidence, and passing bad checks. At this point, there are still a lot of unanswered questions. Police still don’t know what the motive was for these crimes. The house fire is being investigated as arson by the State Fire Marshall’s Office. The BCI is assisting in investigating the officer-involved shooting. Support us on Amazon! https://www.amazon.com/shop/policebodycamvideos
