It headed west on an eastbound road. He hit his lights for a stop. The driver pulled right over. He stepped out and met her. She was 22-year-old Isabella Delgado. As they talked, he spotted impairment clues. Alcohol scent hit him too. She said she left work at Bartaco. She aimed to drop her passenger nearby. Suspicion grew. He had her step out for sobriety tests. First came the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus check. Next, Walk and Turn. She missed heel-to-toe touches. Her turn went wrong. Steps didn't match. Last test: One Leg Stand. She raised her foot wrong. Dropped it early. Wrong-way drive, impairment signs, booze smell, botched tests—all led to arrest for DUI. Landry loaded her in his cruiser. He drove to Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. She agreed to a breath test there. Results showed 0.103 and 0.102 BAC—over the 0.08 limit. Cops charged her with DUI under 316.193(1).
