Alexandra Sepulveda Second Arrest - https://youtu.be/UXlzqtbSeC8 Date of Incident: November 28, 2023 Time of Incident: Approximately 10:05 PM Location: 65 Windward Dr, Barnegat Township, Ocean County, NJ Reporting Officer: Ptl. Kristopher Burke (#416) Synopsis: On the above date and time, Officer Burke responded to a report of an overturned vehicle on Windward Drive. Upon arrival, he observed a blue 2020 Toyota (Texas plate RVR6499) flipped onto its roof in the middle of the roadway. The driver, identified as Alexandra Sepulveda of Barnegat, NJ, was found at the scene with a bloody nose and was described as irate, using profanity, and initially attempting to flee. The Crash: Ms. Sepulveda stated she was driving south on Windward Drive, following her GPS, when she became distracted and took her eyes off the road. Her vehicle then struck a parked and unoccupied Jeep (NJ plate D60LHK). The impact caused her Toyota to ride up over the Jeep and overturn. The passenger in her vehicle, Ramone Davis Jr., corroborated that she was the driver. DUI Investigation: Officer Burke detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on Ms. Sepulveda's breath and from the passenger compartment of her overturned vehicle. An open can of "Four Loko" was later recovered from the car. Ms. Sepulveda admitted to consuming 1.5 alcoholic drinks that night. She was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFSTs): Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN): 6 out of 6 clues indicated. Walk and Turn: Unable to maintain the starting position, stepped off the line, used arms for balance, and performed an improper turn. She repeatedly stated, "Just take me to jail," and admitted, "Honestly, I am intoxicated." One-Leg Stand: Unable to keep her foot raised, swayed, and put her foot down multiple times. Based on her performance and observations, she was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI). Post-Arrest Processing: Ms. Sepulveda was transported to headquarters, where she was read her Miranda Rights, which she waived. After a 20-minute observation period, a breath test on the Alcotest machine was administered, which returned a Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) of 0.195%, more than twice the legal limit. Additional Violations: Further investigation revealed that the Toyota she was driving was unregistered and uninsured. Charges Issued: Alexandra Sepulveda was issued the following summonses: 39:4-50: Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs (DWI) 39:4-96: Reckless Driving 39:4-97: Careless Driving 39:6B-2: Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle 39:3-4: Operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle The vehicle was impounded for 12 hours.
