While conducting safety inspection on Little Lake Conway in Orange County, Florida I observed a vessel occupied with multiple people. As I approached the vessel, I notice the strong presence of alcohol protruding from the vessel. I tied my patrol vessel off to their vessel and asked the driver to show me life jackets for everyone onboard. I asked the driver how many alcohol drinks he had. He replied “two”…I then requested him to step onto my vessel, so that I could conduct Standardize Field sobriety tasks (SFSTs). He agreed. The driver was given the opportunity to provide a breath sample to determine alcohol content but refused. He was then transported to the Orange County Jail with no incident.
