On September 17, 2023, deputies were dispatched to a motel for a domestic dispute. The caller stated a male was being disorderly and yelling. When deputies arrived, they met a woman and her son who stated they were afraid of the man. The victims alleged that the man had threatened to punch them and that he had also threatened to stab his wife with an "ice pick" and kill them. This bodycam shows the moments deputies investigate the claims and speak to the man, who provides them with a false name and date of birth —using his step-son's name while the son was standing right next to him. As deputies attempt to place him under arrest, he becomes highly combative, pulls away , and shouts numerous racial slurs at residents and deputies. While in transport, he allegedly attempted to fake a seizure. An open bottle of whiskey was found on his person.
