On June 27, 2023, Illinois police responded to a Target store after two women were reported stealing over $1,000 in merchandise. What followed was a tense confrontation in the parking lot — including a pregnant woman resisting officers, complaints of painful handcuffing, and an extended de-escalation interview with a supervising officer.
