On June 15, 2024, Alliance Police Officer Griffith observed a vehicle driving without headlights on. He initiated a traffic stop and the 20-year-old driver claimed she was driving the passenger's vehicle. Officer Griffith indicates he could smell the odor of cannabis and the woman admitted to smoking 2 to 3 hours prior. When a search of the vehicle was conducted, alcohol was also discovered. Both the driver and her passenger submitted to a portable breath test and both blew a 0.000% BAC. The driver was then asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which led to her arrest for driving under the influence of a controlled substance. At the police station, she provided a urine specimen. Her charges are discussed at the end of the video. Her case is still open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
