The suspect was later identified as a 28 year old male named Hector. In the state of Florida, largemouth bass have a daily bag limit of 5 per person and only one can be 16 inches or larger in total length. Bluegill have a limit of 50 per person. Both largemouth bass and bluegill are game fish and may only be taken with a rod and reel. In the end, Hector was charged with two misdemeanors, taking over the daily bag limit of largemouth bass and taking game fish by an illegal method. On May 9, 2025, he signed a diversion agreement requiring 3 months of probation. The agreement requires him to pay a total of $265 and perform 25 hours of community service work within the first two months. As of June 9, 2025, the fees remain unpaid.
