They arrived at New Jersey Avenue and E 10th Avenue around 10:50 AM. A 2012 Chevy Silverado had hit three other cars in front of Shore Fitness. The other vehicles were a Jeep Wrangler, a Nissan Titan, and a GMC Yukon. Officer Bright spoke with the Silverado driver, Holly Hicks. At first, she lied. She said a man was driving and had a seizure. When the officer mentioned checking security cameras, she admitted she was behind the wheel. She denied being impaired but said she took methadone. Holly refused to do field sobriety tests. Police arrested her and took her to Cape Regional Medical Center for a blood draw. After that, she refused medical care and went to the police station for processing. She was released to a sober adult after they signed a liability form. Officer Bright gave her five citations: Operating under the influence (39:4-50) Reckless driving (39:4-96) Traffic on marked lanes (39:4-88) Driving with a suspended license (39:3-40) Failure to possess driver insurance card (39:3-29C) The blood test showed no alcohol. It did show methadone, cocaine, and fentanyl. On January 20, 2026, a court found Holly guilty of operating under the influence. She paid 690 dollars in fines and spent 12 hours at a driver resource center. The court dropped the other four charges.
