Bodycam footage from the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office shows the arrest of a mother who left her two young children, a 7-year-old and a 16-month-old baby, home alone to go out drinking at a bar. On February 17, 2024, deputies were called to an apartment complex after a man arrived home to find his 16-month-old daughter and 7-year-old stepson had been left unsupervised by their mother, his wife. The father told deputies he came home early and found the baby crying in her crib while the 7-year-old was trying to care for her. His wife was nowhere to be found. After several hours of searching, deputies were able to locate the mother near a local bar. In the back of the patrol car, the intoxicated mother appears confused, claiming she doesn't know what happened and that her husband was supposed to be home. She was arrested and charged with child neglect.
