An 18-year-old Ferrari driver was arrested following a tense traffic stop with Miami Beach Police, and the entire encounter was captured on police bodycam. According to Miami Beach Police, officers attempted to stop the driver after he allegedly failed to properly yield to emergency equipment. During the traffic stop, police said the teenager refused to provide identification and repeatedly declined commands to step out of the vehicle, ultimately leading officers to remove him from the car and place him under arrest. The driver was charged with resisting arrest and transported to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where he spent the night before being released the following afternoon. The encounter also came after a history of attention surrounding the teenager and his Ferrari. According to Miami Police Chief Manuel Morales, the driver had previously received 17 citations related to revving the Ferrari's engine. The teenager and his family have argued that his previous encounters with law enforcement resulted in him being unfairly targeted.
