He followed as the driver turned onto Kamena Street and traveled west. The truck continued drifting toward parked vehicles before running the stop sign at Kamena Street and 7th Street. Officer Diglawi turned on his emergency lights, and the driver pulled over near Kamena Street and 6th Street. Officer Diglawi approached the truck and spoke with the driver, later identified as Windi Achegiron. He smelled alcohol and noticed other signs that she might be impaired. Officer Thomas Piccinich arrived to help. During the stop, Windi admitted that she had consumed four drinks earlier that night. Because of a possible language barrier, Ridgefield Police Officer Fernandez was called to assist with translation. After Fernandez arrived, Windi was asked to leave the truck and complete field sobriety tests. Officer Piccinich began with the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus, or HGN, test. He observed signs of impairment. Officer Diglawi then gave Windi the Walk and Turn test. She failed to touch heel-to-toe on each step, took the wrong number of steps, and did not turn as instructed. During the One Leg Stand test, the final exercise, Windi failed to raise her foot correctly. Her erratic driving, the smell of alcohol, signs of impairment, and poor performance on the sobriety tests led to her arrest for operating under the influence. The truck was impounded for a mandatory 12-hour hold under John’s Law. Officer Diglawi took Windi to the Fairview Police Department for processing. Officers read her the Standard Statement for Motor Vehicle Operators, and she agreed to provide breath samples. Her Alcotest results showed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.15%, nearly twice the legal limit of 0.08%. After processing was complete and the tickets were issued, Windi was released to a friend while awaiting her court appearance. The friend signed the Potential Liability Warning on her behalf. Officer Diglawi charged Windi with: Operating under the influence (39:4-50) Traffic on marked lanes (39:4-88) Failure to stop at a stop sign (39:4-144) Careless driving (39:4-97) Failure to exhibit documents (39:3-29) Windi had already been arrested for DWI in Leonia, New Jersey, on January 10, 2022. She was arrested for a second DWI in Palisades Park on February 24, 2024, and for a third DWI there on July 4, 2025. Her record also includes numerous other traffic citations. As of February 28, 2025, the DWI from August 27, 2025, and the Palisades Park DWI from July 4, 2025, were both still pending in court. If you enjoyed this BodyCamBust video.
