Back in April of 2023, deputies in Monroe County, Florida, were dispatched to assist the local Courtyard Mariott hotel with removing an intoxicated guest from the premises. Unfortunately, the woman was not cooperative with police, and refused to leave and identify herself. She claimed to be a sovereign citizen to the officers, and as such believed they had no jurisdiction over her. The sheriff's office and judge, however, believed otherwise.
