Officers initiate a traffic stop after noticing vehicle violations. What begins as a routine encounter quickly escalates when the driver admits she does not have her license and refuses to properly cooperate. As officers attempt to conduct sobriety testing, the driver repeatedly interrupts, provides medical excuses, and refuses to complete a breath test. The passenger offers conflicting statements, adding to the confusion and tension on scene. Field sobriety tests reveal balance issues and impaired behavior. After a continued refusal to submit to a preliminary breath test, officers place the driver under arrest and request further testing based on suspected impairment beyond alcohol. Emotions run high during the arrest, but officers later choose to de-escalate, ultimately offering a ride home rather than full custody — balancing enforcement with safety. This footage shows: • How breath test refusals impact DUI investigations • Why officers escalate after repeated non-compliance • Passenger interference during traffic stops • When enforcement shifts to de-escalation
