Incident Information: On July 26th, 2024, just before 11 p.m., deputies with the Midland County Sheriff’s Office in Midland, Michigan, were dispatched to check the area for Barrett Carpenter. According to a 911 caller, Barrett had allegedly driven his vehicle directly at someone. Likely due to a lack of cooperation from the caller, a Be on the Lookout (BOL) was aired to nearby jurisdictions. Shortly after hearing the BOL, officers with the Midland Police Department, who were very familiar with Barrett, checked the area where he resided. He was observed driving on the wrong side of the road and fled from law enforcement. His passenger opted to bail from the vehicle to avoid serious injury or death. Ultimately, a Michigan State Police K9 team tracked and located Barrett not far from his residence. He was taken into custody without further incident.
