During the early morning hours On September 2nd, 2023, Blaine Police officers along with Whatcom County Sheriff's Deputies received multiple 911 report's of hit&run incidents. The vehicle had taken off from officers and ended in a front lawn. Deputies arrive on scene, immediately identify the driver who is then placed under arrest for Hit&Run and suspicion of DUI. Deputies interview the wife of the driver who claims she has no knowledge of the incident. She also told officers she was called to pick up the intoxicated man. During further course of investigation, deputies learn the intoxicated driver is an off duty border patrol agent. The suspect is transported to be identified by another border Patrol agent, which is confirmed. Deputies speak to a woman who lives in a nearby house where the car ended. The woman is asked about a friend who may have been the passenger but seems reluctant to speak to deputies.
