On August 25, 2022, the Jupiter Police Department received a call about a careless driver who had struck a curb, causing the vehicle to become disabled. When officers arrived, they made contact with a 26-year-old woman who stated she was coming from her work, a local pub in West Palm Beach. The woman had a dazed appearance, gave numerous blank stares, and was slow to answer questions. As a result, she was asked to perform standardized roadside sobriety tests, which she refused. She was placed under arrest and was transported to the Palm Beach County Breath Alcohol Testing Facility. The police report indicates she provided 2 breath samples and the results were 0.26% BAC and 0.27% BAC. She was charged with Driving Under the Influence (with a breath alcohol concentration exceeding 0.15%). On December 19, 2022, she pleaded guilty to the charge. She was fined $1,000, ordered to attend DUI school and complete 50 hours of community service, and she was placed on probation for 12 months. In addition, her license was suspended for 6 months and she was ordered to install an Ignition Interlock Device on her vehicle for 6 months.
