On October 19, 2024, Lakewood Police Officer Williams stopped a vehicle for expired registration tags and for weaving in traffic lanes. When Officer Williams approached the vehicle, he observed an open White Claw can. His police report indicates he smelled alcohol coming from the vehicle and that the 24-year-old driver had slurred speech. She was asked to step out of her vehicle and she immediately refused to perform standardized field sobriety tests. She was placed under arrest for Operating a Vehicle Impaired (OVI). The police report indicates she provided a breath test at the police station and the result was 0.229% BAC. She was charged with OVI, expiration registration, and a marked lanes violation. She was released to the custody of her sister about an hour later. Her next court date is November 22, 2024. All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
