On March 08, 2025, police in Elyria, Ohio, were dispatched on a wellness check when a local gas station reported a person slumped over in her vehicle. On scene, the officers discovered the driver of the vehicle seemed disoriented, with two flat tires suggesting a possible car accident. The officers' investigation was complicated by the driver's mercurial temper and the arrival of her elderly grandmother, and they began to suspect she was operating her vehicle while impaired.
