On July 12, 2025, around 9:45 PM, Officer Kevin O’Donnell of the Highlands Police Department (New Jersey) noticed a white Buick with Florida plates (RMJR51) traveling just 28 mph on a 45-mph highway along State Route 36 North and Linden Avenue. The car was drifting over lane markings, its left turn signal stayed on for miles, and at one point it nearly veered into the grassy median. When the officer activated his lights and siren, the car didn’t stop immediately — it continued for nearly half a mile before pulling over. Behind the wheel was 38-year-old Sade White, who told officers she was “just returning from fishing” and had only one drink — a mix of vodka and Red Bull. As Officer O’Donnell spoke with her, he noticed the odor of alcohol, watery eyes, and slow, slurred speech. Standard Field Sobriety Tests were performed on the roadside: HGN (Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus): All six clues of impairment were observed. Walk-and-Turn Test: She lost balance, missed heel-to-toe steps, and stepped off the line. One-Leg Stand Test: She struggled to maintain balance, raised her arms, and put her foot down several times. Based on these signs, the officer determined that White was intoxicated and placed her under arrest for DWI. At the police station, she was read the New Jersey Attorney General’s Standard Statement regarding the breath test and agreed to provide a sample. After a 20-minute observation period, her BAC (Blood Alcohol Concentration) measured 0.156% — nearly double the legal limit of 0.08%. Her vehicle was towed and impounded under John’s Law, and she was released to a sober adult. She received multiple summonses for: Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) Reckless Driving Failure to Maintain Lane This bodycam footage captures the full incident — from the initial traffic stop to the roadside tests and eventual arrest.
