In 1992, the Arizona desert became the stage for a terrifying game of cat and mouse when Danny Ray Horning walked out of a maximum-security prison. This wasn't just a bank robber on the run; this was a man linked to a cold-blooded dismemberment murder who had nothing left to lose. As he moved through the wilderness of the Grand Canyon, he didn't just hide; he took hostages, engaged in high-speed shootouts, and left patronizing notes for the authorities trailing him. The pressure grew so intense that one of the world's most famous national parks had to close its gates to protect the public. Danny Ray Horning, a convicted bank robber and sadistic murderer, sparked a massive 56-day manhunt and the closure of the Grand Canyon after escaping from an Arizona prison and taking multiple hostages while taunting the FBI.
