On July 27, 2023, officers responded to a child neglect report involving two children, ages 9 and 2, who had been left home alone overnight. The 9-year-old answered the door visibly upset, and the residence was found in hazardous condition, with signs of drug use, human waste, and unsanitary living conditions. The children were taken into protective custody until their grandmother arrived. The mother was located and later questioned by authorities. This is the footage of the events that followed.
