Police Chase Armed Carjacker Orange County FL- On April 19 20, 2021 Deputies Responded to a Carjacking that took place in a residential neighborhood, victim claimed that he was setup by a person he knew. Deputies then collected information from the individual and issued a BOLO on the stolen vehicle. Hours later On April 20, 2021, I was on routine patrol in the area of South Rio Grande and Wakulla Way when I observed a silver Nissan utility bearing Florida tag PIWL59. An FCIC/NCIC check of the vehicle revealed it was reported stolen. The FCIC/NCIC check revealed the suspect had used a firearm to obtain the vehicle. Based on the information given the vehicle was followed to South Rio Grande avenue and 33rd street where I activated my lights and sirens. I was directly behind the vehicle with my lights and sirens activated in a marked agency patrol car. The Utility vehicle continued north bound on Rio Grande and increased speed. Upon activating my lights and sirens, the vehicle immediately tried to flee and elude my attempts to stop the vehicle. Based on the information of this vehicle being suspected of carjacking a vehicle pursuit was initiated. The vehicle continued north bound taking comers and intersections at a high rate of speed. While perusing the vehicle north bound on Tampa Avenue, the driver made an abrupt west bound turn onto Central Avenue, when doing so the driver lost control of the vehicle and spun out. When spinning out in the vehicle the vehicle came to rest facing east bound as I was approaching west bound. The vehicle appeared to have stalled and a tactical park was conducted on the vehicle. Upon parking the vehicle, I observed three occupants inside of the vehicle. The driver was a black male later identified as Prince Edward Williams Sr (defendant 1 and 4). The front passenger who was a black female with tattoos on her face, half her head shaved and the other have was twisted braids later identified as Latonya Beth Basdeo (defendant 2). The rear passenger was a black male with twisted longer hair who was later identified as Cornelius Williams (defendant 3). Based on my investigation there is probable cause to charge Prince grand theft of a. motor vehicle based on the driving pattern observed by Prince when a stop was attempted. There is also probable cause to charge Prince with Fleeing and eluding, driving while licenses suspended, possession of cocaine and possession of methamphetamine. 5-0 PATROL provides unbiased and authentic footage of incidents captured on body cams.
