This intense bodycam video from December 5, 2022, captures a wild scene during the arrest of Daniel Hilts, a 32-year-old from Punta Gorda, Florida, at Anthony’s Restaurant & Pub in Joliet, Illinois. Shot in a neon-lit parking lot at 1:50 AM, this YouTube Short shows officers planning to re-handcuff Hilts behind his back to transport him to his motel, saying, “Let’s re-handcuff him behind his back. Seatbelt him back inside.” When they draw guns and order, “Come on out,” Hilts resists, yelling, “Don’t get near me, you got guns, get away from me,” and denies accusations, shouting, “You’re saying I tried to do something I didn’t.” This heated moment is perfect for true crime fans. The trouble started when Hilts, kicked out of Anthony’s for causing a scene, tried to drive his car, leading Officers Joseph Robinson and Robert Bukala to step in. After refusing ride-shares or a security escort to his hotel, Hilts got aggressive, resulting in a takedown and charges of aggravated battery to a peace officer, aggravated assault, obstructing justice, criminal trespass to property, and resisting arrest.
