Officers of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission were conducting routine patrol when they were dispatched to a report of a female causing a disturbance at Wakulla Springs State Park. They received a description of her vehicle and spotted it driving towards the park exit. The officers activated their lights and told the driver, identified by her Florida driver license, to pull over. She complied, and the officers approached her vehicle. The officers informed her about the disturbance report and asked what happened. She said she was sick and wanted to go home. She appeared anxious and in a rush. While the officers ran her information, the lodge manager arrived and described the woman's erratic behavior, suggesting she was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The manager mentioned that the woman had been yelling at guests, preaching from the Bible, and struggled to start her car using an interlock breathalyzer. The officers asked the woman to step out of her vehicle and perform field sobriety tasks, which she refused. She became frustrated, repeatedly asked for her license back, and stated she wanted to go home. She exhibited unusual mannerisms, talking to herself and making exaggerated gestures. When the officers told her to wait in her vehicle, she started her car and drove off, despite being told not to. The officers pursued her and she eventually pulled over. As they attempted to arrest her, she resisted by snatching away, bracing against her vehicle, and kicking. They managed to remove her from the car and handcuff her after a struggle. At the jail, she provided a breath sample of 0.00 and a urine sample for further analysis. She was booked for driving under the influence, obstructing an officer, and resisting arrest without violence. She admitted to drinking wine and using ice and marijuana.
