On December 24, 2024, Sarasota Police Officer Kluszczynska stopped a vehicle for having criminally expired vehicle registration. The vehicle was being driven by a 31-year-old woman. Officer Kluszczynska asked the woman about a dozen times for her driver's license, but the woman refused to provide it. Eventually, the woman was instructed to step out of her vehicle and she was placed in handcuffs and arrested. At the police station, officers decided to conduct field sobriety tests, but the woman refused. She also refused to submit to a breath test. She was charged with (1) Driving Under the Influence (DUI); (2) Refusal to Submit to Testing; and (3) Resisting an Officer without Violence. On July 1, 2025, she pleaded guilty to the DUI and Resisting an Officer charge. She was fined $1,617 and she was ordered to perform 75 hours of community service. In addition, she was placed on probation for 1 year, which included DUI school. Her license was suspended for 1 year and her vehicle was impounded for 10 days.
