On May 16th, 2025, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team executed a high-risk search warrant at a residence on Lejeune Drive in connection to an ongoing drug investigation. The search followed a prior domestic violence call weeks earlier, where deputies found fentanyl, cocaine, and stolen firearms in plain view. During the SWAT operation, deputies encountered 32-year-old Tyrone Bartley in a bedroom, reaching toward a rifle. One deputy fired, striking Bartley. He was transported to the hospital but later died. This critical incident is now under investigation, and the bodycam footage is being released in accordance with OCSO policy.
