On July 3rd 2018, police conducted a vehicle background check on a silver caravan with a man and a woman inside. The driver was identified as John Terry Chatman, aged 34. The video features the bodycam footage from the police investigation. He was sitting in the driver’s seat and did not have any form of identification or a license to provide to the officers. John would refuse to comply with cops who were attempting to obtain more information about the pair’s identity and background in relation to the vehicle. He would proceed to ask the officers if he could speak to their ‘boss’, Sgt. Mike Parsons, who was present at the scene. He forced Chatman out of the vehicle and would arrest him. The driver would later be charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition, Obstruction of Justice by Attempting to Kill a Witness, and Carrying, Using, and Discharging a Firearm During and in Relation to a Crime of Violence.
