On November 11, 2025, in Los Angeles, California, California Highway Patrol officers responded to a traffic collision involving multiple parked vehicles near McDonnell Avenue and Gratian Street. Officers located a dark blue Mercedes-Benz ML350 that allegedly struck several parked vehicles before attempting to flee the area. Police bodycam footage captured the DUI investigation as CHP officers contacted the driver and observed objective signs of alcohol intoxication, including red watery eyes, aggressive behavior, slurred speech, and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. The driver was uncooperative and sped off at a high rate of speed attempting to evade the CHP officers. The driver crashed several more times before the vehicle was destroyed and unable to drive anymore, the driver was then taken into custody. Officers did not conduct field sobriety tests due to the suspect’s aggressive and non-compliant behavior. CHP officers later conducted a chemical breath test that reportedly produced results of 0.19% and 0.20% BAC — approximately 2.5 times the California legal limit of 0.08%. The driver was booked into the East Los Angeles County Sheriff's Departments East LA Station on the following charges: 23152(A) - DUI Alcohol/Drugs 23152(B) - DUI Alcohol W/BAC Above .08 23578 - Excessive Blood Alcohol 20002(A)(1) - Hit And Run Resulting In Property Damage 148A - Resist / Obstruct / Delay Peace Officer 2800.1(A) - Evading Peace Officer Arresting California Highway Patrol Officers: Officer M.
