🚨 120 MPH DWI Pursuit — Kansas City, Platte County, Missouri (Feb. 11, 2025) Platte County deputies reported that a black Mercedes S500 passed a patrol vehicle on I‑29 at over 100 mph, crossing the solid yellow line and nearly striking the concrete barrier. When deputies activated their lights and siren, the driver — Andrew Gilbert — accelerated, reaching speeds up to 120 mph in a 65 mph zone. Gilbert exited onto NW Tiffany Springs Parkway, cutting across four lanes of traffic and forcing other drivers to brake to avoid a collision. He circled a roundabout, continued onto N. Ambassador Drive, and passed multiple vehicles at high speed. Deputies deployed stop sticks at NW 112th Street, but Gilbert avoided them. The Mercedes then went off‑road, driving through a field before reentering N. Ambassador and heading toward the Hilton at NW 112th Street. The vehicle became disabled in a muddy embankment, and Gilbert fled on foot. Deputies located him near the I‑29 exit ramp and took him into custody without further incident. Deputies reported that Gilbert smelled strongly of alcohol, had bloodshot eyes, and admitted to drinking. A breath test later showed a 0.108 BrAC. Gilbert also admitted to smoking marijuana earlier in the night.
