On October 3, 2025, in Crescent City, California, California Highway Patrol officers conducted a traffic stop that led to a DUI investigation and arrest. Officers observed a vehicle with a malfunctioning brake light before initiating an enforcement stop near US-101 and Front Street. During contact with the driver, officers detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. The driver displayed objective signs of impairment, including red and watery eyes and slurred speech.
