July 12, 2024 Police in Chesterfield Township, Michigan, are dispatched to a welfare check. An anonymous caller reported seeing a man passed out in the driver's seat of a vehicle that had a window broken out. Upon arrival, police identify the driver as Dejuan Cherry. While attempting to speak with Dejuan outside of his car, he flees, and a brief pursuit ensues. After the pursuit, Dejuan foot bails and is able to temporarily evade capture. He barricades himself in a bathroom of a local hotel, where police are able to surround him. Eventually, Dejuan is taken into custody and lodged on seven charges.
